FORD BRAKE HOSE RECALL

Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2013-2018 Fusion and Lincoln MKZ vehicles due to the front brake hoses.  In some of the affected vehicles, brake fluid may leak from one or both front brake flexible hoses.  If the brake fluid level drops below threshold, a warning light will appear on the dash.  The driver may also experience an increase in brake pedal travel and slower deceleration.

 

Dealers will replace the front brake flexible hoses free of charge.  Owner notification letters were mailed June 27, 2023.  Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332.  Ford's number for this recall is 23S12 and there are 1,280,726 units potentially affected.  Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or go to www.nhtsa.gov for more information.
